RGT Exams

Overview of RGT Guitar Exams

RGT GRADED EXAMS:
For students wishing to take guitar exams, I teach the examinations with the well respected and internationally recognised RGT.  The RGT is the world’s leading organisation for guitar education in electric, acoustic, classical and bass guitar – ranging from Preliminary stages through to Diploma level.  Even if you do not want to take any exams, the RGT provide a comprehensive and structured way of helping your development with the guitar.

In order to prepare for RGT graded examinations, everything you need to know will be thoroughly worked through.  This involves looking at theory, aural and musicianship skills in relation to the guitar and music in general.  The examinations are fully accredited by the Thames Valley University, and are fully approved by the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA).  For the higher grades, students are awarded UCAS points for LCM/RGT qualifications (grades 6,7,8).

RGT exams start at beginner level and progress to professional Diplomas. The exams are organised in partnership with London College of Music Exams (one of the world’s most respected music examination boards, established since 1887) and certificated by Thames Valley University.

From Grade One onwards RGT exams are accredited by the Qualifications & Curriculum Authority (QCA) and UCAS points are awarded for Grade 6 and above.
